More than a hundred young athletes from a dozen Galician teams and the rest of Spain participated on Sunday, November 21, in the VII Viravolta-Jael Rhythmic Gymnastics Tournament, organized at the Fontes de Sar Multipurpose Center by the Compostela club
Happily, the tournament has bounced back after being suspended last year due to the pandemic. The morning of competitions in base categories culminated with a Rhythmic Gymnastics Gala, in which some of the best specialists on the international scene participated, such as the world champions Dina and Arina Averina, Aleksandra Soldatova and Ekaterina Selezneva.
To them was added the presence of great specialists from the Spanish National Team such as Natalia García, Polina Berezina, Paula Serrano, Sol Martínez or Cristina Korniychuk, and the Galicians Candela Martínez, Sofía Sousa, Daniela Costas, Martín Casal and Lola Ferro. The Olympian Carolina Rodríguez was once again godmother of the tournament and was in charge of the presentation of the gala, together with the actor Antonio Garrido.
The watchmaking firm Longines and Jael Jewelry sponsored the event, with the support of the Xunta de Galicia, through Deporte Galego, the City Council of Santiago and the Deputación da Coruña. The amount of tickets paid by the more than 2,000 people attending the event will go entirely to the activities of the Asanog association, which supports children with cancer and their families.
