The most disputed golf tournament in Compostela was held last weekend at the course of the Real Aeroclub de Santiago, in Ameixenda (Ames), with a great participation.
Beatriz Corbacho became the first woman to win the silver trophy that certifies her victory in one of the most awaited and exclusive championships of the club, only open to members, demanding, played over 36 holes and in medal play scratch mode. The pride of being part of the honor roll of the entity is part of the attraction of the tournament sponsored by Jael Jewelry, this year with the help of the navigation and watchmaking products firm Garmin.
Almost a hundred players attended the call on a hot day. Although during the first stages of the tournament the winner was Manuel Carballal Pose, winner of the Jael Cup in previous editions, during the day on Sunday the player Beatriz Corbacho managed to stand out and become the absolute champion of the club with a cumulative total of 150 strokes. This is a magnificent result that for the first time in the club’s history places a player in the Honor Roll. The handicap champion was Antonio Castro.
During the presentation of trophies and cocktail to which the participants were invited, the president of the Real Aeroclub de Santiago thanked Chema Fernandez, owner of Jael Joyería, for the enormous support he has always given to the Club. Among the gifts that were raffled to the runners was a Garmin sports watch, a partner of the race.
