Air-King, GMT-Master II, Day-Date 40, Yacht-Master 42 and Datejust 31. Five of Rolex’s most iconic models have new versions, presented today by the brand at the Watches and Wonders fair in Geneva.
Rolex’s novelties for 2022 include new designs applied to pieces that are already true style icons. This is the case of the Oyster Perpetual Air–King: its new generation pays homage to the pioneers of aviation and presents relevant changes already in its case, which has been entirely redesigned. Its visualization has also been reformulated. The watch is equipped with caliber 3230, a movement at the cutting edge of watchmaking technology.
As for the Oyster Perpetual GMT–Master II, Rolex has presented an unexpected reinterpretation. The winding crown is located on the left side of the case, while the date window is located at the 9 o’clock position. The bezel is very striking: made in two-tone monobloc Cerachrom, it is made of green and black ceramic, a color combination never seen on the model.
Also the classic and recognizable Oyster Perpetual Day–Date 40 has been updated with a striking glacier blue dial with fluted bezel. Few models are more evocative than this Rolex classic, now made in the most prestigious metal possible: platinum.
Rolex has not forgotten its relationship with the sea in its catalog of novelties for 2022. The Oyster Perpetual Yacht-Master 42 is refined with a model available in 18K yellow gold, which also has an important aesthetic novelty. It is equipped with the innovative Oysterflex bracelet and has an optimized Chromalight display that ensures long emission intensity. In addition, in daylight, the white tone of these display elements is more vivid.
Finally, Rolex makes available to the public a reformulation of the Oyster Perpetual Datejust 31 that captures the attention from the first glance. The main reason is a blue dial with floral motifs, created using textured effects and illuminated by diamonds set in the center of the corollas of each of the flowers that characterize it.
